Xoom is an affordable, safe and easy way to transfer money to international banks and money pick up points abroad. You can also load prepaid phones at ATMs in other foreign countries and pay monthly utility bills in other foreign countries right from your phone. This application enables you to make payments using credit and debit cards. It also offers the ability to make online purchases using your credit or debit card, pay bills with bank transfers, and make reservations at hotels and restaurants.
To download this application, you need to have a rooted Android device with a compatible memory card, an internet connection and a credit or debit card with a valid U.S. billing address, if you plan to make international payments. To begin, sign up at the free Xoom website, or buy the software at the Google Play Store. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your sign up. After you've registered, download the free Xoom app from the Android Market or the Apple App Store to your computer, and tap or click the downloaded file to install it. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation process.
Once your app is installed, you can then start receiving push notifications from different financial institutions, such as PayPal, to load and complete any transactions you will be making through your debit or credit cards. If you are not comfortable with sending money online or with loading prepaid cards, you can set up a new account instead, which will continue processing transactions until you are ready to accept another form of payment. The application lets you define your withdrawal limit, which you must set before you begin downloading and using your application.
